Three Generations of Family Winegrowers
The Stewart family began farming in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley in 1908, eventually transitioning from tree fruits and orchards to high quality viticulture and wine grapes - pioneering viticulture and grape growing in the now burgeoning wine valley. In 1956, the family purchased the Estate at Quails’ Gate and developed one of the regions most respected wineries, farming more than 180 acres, creating innovative guest experiences and establishing the awarded Old Vines Restaurant.
In 2014, Quails’ Gate Estate Winery celebrated its 25th anniversary, with three generations of family in the business. The Stewart family came to Sonoma in 2012, purchasing Madrone Estate, Valley of the Moon and Lake Sonoma Winery wines. Their vision brings together wine, food and the constant pursuit of uncompromising quality.
