Back by popular demand,  Acoustic Sundays starts June 4th. Guests can enjoy wine-by-the glass specials on our sunny patio, paired with wood-fired bites prepared by our estate chef.

June 4th - Westwind Duo
Johnny Bamont has a long career playing with numerous touring acts in the pop, jazz and big band arenas. He currently tours with Huey Lewis & the News, as part of the horn section. His mellow sax and flute blends warmly with his partner on guitar.

June 11th - Michael Hantman
Michael Hantman sings contemporary ballads we all remember from some of our favorite performers. Accompanied by his 12-string guitar, Michael`s sound is easy listening.

June 18th - Mac & Potter
Mac & Potter, aka Bill McCubbin and Gary Potterton play rock-a-billy, country, pop and other classic American favorites. They combine years of playing experience with performers such as Glen Campbell, Bobby Darin, New Riders, Roger Miller and more. 

June 25th - Michael Belair
For over 40 years, Michael Belair has made the guitar his profession. His sound is based on an instrumental jazz style with rhythm and blues, rock, Brazilian and classical elements. Michael plays a wide variety of songs from jazz standards to rock and original compositions.

Peter Welker Sextet, Featuring Deborah Winters

Peter Welker has been playing all genres of music from the bell of his trumpet since age nine. He has toured and recorded with the likes of Van Morrison, Santana, Cold Blood, Huey Lewis, Buddy Miles and Dr. John. Peter has been nominated for a Bammie (Bay Area Music Awards) in the Best Horn Player Category. Welker`s horn section, Horns R Us, have often been hired to back and tour with Soul and R&B musicians such as the Temptations, the Four Tops and Smokey Robinson. Peter currently resides in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. He enjoys connecting with the community and spreading his love for music anytime he can.

Variety and versatility characterize Deborah Winters` performances. Deborah continues to dazzle and uplift her audiences throught the Bay Area with the sound of her straight-ahead jazz, inspirational, folk and rock music. 

Wine 101: The Perfect Introduction to Wine

Although this class is for beginners, the depth of knowledge you will receive is extensive. Here at Madrone Estate you will build your wine knowledge in a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. You’ll learn a structured approach to tasting wine, so you can taste like the pros. You will learn how to read a wine label, how to judge wine for appearance, aroma, and taste. You’ll learn how to understand the key influences on style and a wine’s structure, and a wine’s key distinctions among the major grape varietals. You will sample 5 wines in the class. $35 per person / $28 wine club members.

Learn how to improve your tasting ability.  You’ll learn how to see, smell, and taste wine, in a whole new way!  A sense-by-scent approach to understanding what it is about wine that you love and how to describe it.  You will extend your wine vocabulary, and discover how your individual sense of smell and taste works together.   You will sample 5 wines in the class. $35 per person / $28 wine club members

Ever wonder what pairs well with different varietals.  You’ll see, smell and taste your way thru 5 wines in this class and learn the process of pairing food dishes with wine to enhance the dining experience. The main concept behind pairings is that certain elements (such as texture and flavor) in both food and wine interact with each other, and thus finding the right combination of these elements will make the entire dining experience more enjoyable. However, taste and enjoyment are very subjective and what may be a "textbook perfect" pairing for one taster could be less enjoyable to another.  We will have some fun. $35 per person / $28 wine club members
